Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 September 2026
These terms govern your use of bookdiva.co.uk, operated by Daniel Cavanagh. By creating an account or booking through the platform, you agree to them.
1. What BookDiva is
BookDiva provides booking websites to independent beauty salons and their clients. We host each salon's page, availability calendar, and booking system. We are a software provider — we do not provide the beauty services. Your appointment, its quality, and everything that happens at the salon is between you and the salon.
2. Salon payments go through Stripe — not through us
When you pay a deposit or a full payment on a salon's booking page, that payment is processed by Stripe on behalf of the salon, using the salon's own Stripe account. BookDiva is not a party to that payment: we do not receive the funds, we do not hold them, and we take no commission on them.
- Payment problems, disputes and refunds for salon bookings (including deposit refunds after a cancellation) must be raised with the salon directly — refunds are issued by the salon through its Stripe account. If the salon is unresponsive, disputes can be raised with your card issuer or with Stripe.
- Card details are entered on Stripe's secure pages and never reach our servers.
3. Bookings and availability
Booking requests are subject to salon confirmation. Availability shown on the calendar is live but can change; a booking is not guaranteed until the salon confirms it. Bookings that require payment are only placed once payment is completed.
4. Salon subscriptions
- New salons get a free trial, after which a subscription of £14.99 per month applies, billed automatically via Stripe until cancelled.
- You can cancel any time — your page and bookings stay live until the end of the paid period.
- If a subscription lapses, the salon's public page is paused (showing a notice to visitors) but nothing is deleted — restoring the subscription brings everything back.
- Prices may change with reasonable notice; existing billing periods are honoured.
5. Acceptable use
Don't attack the platform or abuse other users. Specifically: no attempting to breach security, no scraping at volume, no using the service for unlawful purposes, and salon owners are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their own published content (services, prices, claims) and for their client relationships.
6. Service availability
We aim for constant availability but — as with any online service — we cannot promise uninterrupted operation. We may take the platform offline briefly for maintenance or repair. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free at all times.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- BookDiva is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
- We are not liable for the beauty services provided by salons, nor for any loss arising from a salon's conduct, prices, or client dealings.
- We are not liable for payment processing outcomes — these are handled by Stripe and the salon, per section 2.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost business arising from use of (or inability to use) the platform.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- Subject to the above, our total liability arising from use of the platform is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (for salon owners) or to £100 (for clients, who pay us nothing).
8. Unauthorised access and attacks
We take security seriously and defend the platform accordingly. However, we cannot guarantee that no unauthorised access, hacking attempt, or data breach will ever occur against any online system. In the event of a genuine personal-data breach affecting our users, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required by data protection law. Beyond that legal obligation, and the liability limits above, we are not liable for losses arising from third-party attacks on the platform.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be flagged on the platform. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms. You can stop using the service and request deletion at any time via [email protected].
